Rob Lee was the 2017 Player of the Year. Rob impressively won 3 out of 4 tournaments in a row and finished 4th in two others to accumulate 2231.8 points. Heath Derrick finished 2nd with 1467.2 points after winning the first two tournaments of the year and finishing 5th in another. David Allen (1350.3), Bill Tait (1157.2), and Dave Roper (1138.7) came in 3rd thru 5th. Rob also led the year with 5 ITM's. Dave finished 2nd with 4 ITM's while Heath, David, Bill, Don Argo, and Charles Loflin all had 3 ITM's each.
Ted Leahy was the 2015-16 Player of the Year. Ted won the July Cup Championship, won another tourney, finished 2nd, and finished 3rd twice to cruise to an easy win with 2857.4 points. Dave Roper finished 2nd with 1715.0 points making it the 3rd time he's been the runner up. Dave finished 2nd in the December Cup Championship, 2nd in two other times, and 5th in another. Don Argo (1460.0), Mike Thelen (1450.9), and David Allen (1410.0) came in 3rd thru 5th. Ted also led the year with 5 ITM's while Dave, Bret Levy, and Seth Lively had 4 ITM's each. note that '15 & '16 were combined due to number of cancelled events in '15 then a long shut down due to construction at Mac Beach.
Mike Sestrich was the 2014 Player of the Year. Mike won his first POTY after finishing the year with 1672.5 points. Mike got 2nd in the April Cup Championship, 2nd in another tournament, and had two 4th place finishes. Bret Levy finished 2nd with 1417.0 points after 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishes. Jeff Schuelke (1306.2), Heath Derrick (1215.8), and Rob Lee (1024.0) came in 3rd thru 5th. Mike also led the year in ITM's with 4. Bret , Jeff, Heath, Rob, Seth Lively, and Dave Roper all finished with 3 each.
Charles Loflin was the 2013 Player of the Year. Charles won his 2nd POTY in a row and 3rd overall in a commanding fashion with 2411.9 points. Charles won the Holdem Championship, won the tournament that was the largest turnout in PN@MGR history, and followed that up with a 2nd place finish. Ted Leahy finished 2nd with 1251.7 points after finishing 2nd in the Holdem Championship and placing 4th in two other tournaments. Dave Moreshead (952.0), Chad Dickinson (876.2), and Matt Bartlett (674.4) finished the year 3rd thru 5th. Charles & Ted led the year in ITM's with 3 each while 5 others had 2 each.
Charles Loflin was the 2012 Player of the Year. Charles won the Hold'em Championship, won another hold'em tournament, and finished ITM in 2 others for a total of 1843.5 points giving him his 2nd POTY title. Dave Roper finished in 2nd place with 1474.4 points after placing 2nd in the Omaha Championship and finishing ITM in 4 other tournaments. Kent McCall (1335.4), Seth Lively (1132.9), and Ted Leahy (744.8) finished the year 3rd thru 5th. Dave led the year with 5 ITM's while Charles, Kent, and Seth all had 4 each.
Ron Thompson was the 2011 Player of the Year. Ron finished 2nd in the Holdem Championship, 3rd in the Shootout Championship, and won a holdem tournament for a total of 1170 points. Kent McCall finished 2nd with 1689 points from 2nd place in the Players Championship, 3rd place in the Holdem Championship, 2nd place in an omaha tournament, and 2 other ITM's. Eddie Winston, Dave Roper, and Mike Deguibert finished the year 3rd thru 5th. Kent had the most ITM's with 5 while Ron, Dave, Mike Sestrich, Amit Agrawal, and Marco Antinarella had 3 each.
Charles Loflin was the 2010 Player of the Year. Charles finished 2nd in the Hold'em Championship, 2nd in the Players Championship, and 2nd in a hold'em tournament for a total of 1170 points. Mike Thelen finished only 53 points behind Charles for 2nd place. Brad Hendrickson, Mac Viers, and Ron Thompson finished the year 3rd thru 5th. Brad had the most ITM's with 4 while Charles, Mike, Ron, Ted Leahy, and Dave Roper had 3 each.
Kent McCall was the 2009 Player of the Year. Kent won the Tournament of Champions, won an Omaha tournament, and finished 2nd in another Omaha tournament and a holdem tournament for a total of 1425 points. Deepak Kaushik, Ted Leahy, Eddie Winston, and Jessica Delisle finished the year 2nd thru 5th. Kent, Ted, Eddie, and Greg Lewis tied for the most ITM's with 4.
Kent McCall was the 2008 Player of the Year. Kent won the ShootOut Championship, won a holdem tournament, and finished 2nd in another holdem tournament for a total of 1414 points. Mike Wood finished 2nd with 1174 points after finishing 2nd in the Shootout, 3rd in the Open, and 4th in the TOC. Bob Atwater, 2 time POTY Greg Lewis, and Charles Loflin finished the year 3rd thru 5th. Mike, Bob, and Frank Carrillo tied for the most ITM's with 5.
James Copher was the 2007 Player of the Year. James started 2007 strong by winning the Open Championship. He then went back-to-back by winning the next tournament, an Omaha hi/lo event. James then became the first player to win 2 majors after taking down the Tournament of Champions. James finished ITM in 2 other tournaments and finished the year with 1480 points. Kent McCall finished 2nd with 1279 points after winning the Heads Up Championship, an Omaha event, and 5 ITM's. Ted Leahy, Dave Roper, and Kevin Chatfield finished the year 3rd thru 5th. James, Kent, and Kevin tied for the most ITM's with 5.
Greg Lewis was the 2006 Player of the Year. Greg defended his 2005 POTY title by finishing 2006 with 927 points. Greg was a 3 time champion, including back to back wins in June & July and finished 3 other times ITM. Seth Lively finished 2nd with 691 points and 5 ITM's. Greg Hebeler, Gene Roerig, and Mike Grady finished the year 3rd thru 5th. Dave McPherson had the most ITM's with 7 while Greg had 6 and Seth had 5.
Greg Lewis was the 2005 Player of the Year. Greg finished with 1235 points, over 400 points ahead of Dave Roper who finished 2nd. Greg was a 3 time champion, 3 time runner up (including the Tournament of Champions), and finished 2 other times ITM. Rounding out the top 5 were Mike Grady, Brent Beattie, and Rick Anthony. Dave had the most ITM's with 9, Greg had 8, and Mike, Paul Schrafft, and Seth Lively had 6. The 2005 standings cover tournaments also held in 2004.
